What is The Truth?

Indeed, what is "the truth"? Is there such a thing as "the truth"? Can there only be one "truth"? Or are there several "truths"?

I firmly believe that each religion or belief system in the world today, and those gone before, each contains a strand of gold. That is, each contains "a Truth". And if we could be clever enough to extract each "truth" from each religion or belief system, we may, yes... ultimately find; "The Truth".

What is it, I wonder, that we will find? Will it be so shocking as to shake us in our "roots"? Perhaps it is something mockingly simple…

Maybe we have come so close to the Ultimate Truth that we fail to see it. What is that saying about “hiding in plain sight”?

My aim is not to promote any single form of religious belief system, although I do believe in God and Christ albeit not in a customary manner.
